UGH : a need for inspiration

I've had a pair of wide leg trousers for a while, and finally got them tailored to fit a wee bit better. I end up changing a dozen times with them {unless it's for work}, never feeling totally confident with my outfit. I think my fears are that the waist is too high, my butt looks too big/wide/etc, or I just look weird. What to do, what to do.

 I felt a sense of hope when I saw this outfit and love the style. It's sparked some ideas of other {new} ways to try them {and it doesn't help finding other photos too} Score!

Today, I had one of the worst cupcakes ever. There's a new cupcake shop in town, and even after a friend told me they were gross, I had to try it myself {and satisfy an intense sugar craving}. I can't believe I finished it and felt some heavy regret about doing so in my tummy right after. My friend and I both agreed we could make better cupcakes from a box mix with our eyes closed using our feet.

Anyhoo, it's inspired me to make my own cupcakes soon {with my hands} after seeing these...

Lately I've been {obsessively} hunting for :

a. the perfect white summer dress

b. wedding appropriate dresses

I don't know if I've just gotten picky, cheap, or just won't settle till I find the 'perfect' dresses {likely all of these} but I just can't find what I'm looking for! On the other hand, I have found fun new websites to window shop and lots of pretty dresses I would be happy with for other occasions or for regular day wearing.

Lucky is one of my favorite magazines, and needless to say I got suuuuper excited when their tabs were nail polish themed! AND Essie of all polishes {my new fav} !!

Green thumb

This past weekend the weather was amazingly gorgeous so I took the chance to be outside as much as possible. Our backyard is in great shape thanks to so much rain, but there are spots in the landscaping that could use a little something extra. After checking out Home Depot, I put on my yellow gardening boots {aka best rain boots ever}, pink gardening gloves, and sunglasses and got to work.

Lately I have forgotten about Pintrest (where I first came across this photo), and am on a mad hunt to find out where the people found this picture so I can find the dress. I am contemplating getting a sewing machine, in part to make this dress...that is how badly I want it.

If anyone can find me this dress, I will be your best friend :)

Hello, sunshine!

The weather this week has been a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I am a summer girl at heart, so for the weather to be heating up and the sun to be out more, I am quite a happy person. I am super stoked for hot weather, and have been waiting for summery things, so here are some of my favorite warm weathered things

I love that more fresh fruits are available with warmer weather, and this summer I have been living on smoothies. And not just my normal ones, but monstrous smoothies because I end up putting so much in them. My mix for the week: strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, apple, vanilla yogurt, pineapple OJ, flax seeds.

One of my requirements for being poolside or on the boat are colorful towels. Although we have a surplus of towels, I want a hooded towel. SO BAD.

Along with colorful beach towels are fun and bright bikinis. Apparently I have been cut off from getting any new ones, but secretly may get this one...both cute for sunning and functional for wakeboarding.

Probably just the first color of the summer...a bit of red, a hint of pink...perfection. Red-y set ex is all over my nails.

Last year I found a super fun straw fedora with a classy navy and white striped ribbon. However, it didn't properly fit huge-head over here. Luckily, I checked out a favorite store, Sway, and found a new one, yippee! The fit is perfect, but I want to add a ribbon or flower since it's a bit plain for now.

To just feel instead of thinking about feeling and to sit in that feeling...to let it refresh, balance, and energize...then let it pass with bright eyes and appreciation.
