I made a quick trip to H&M yesterday afternoon and ran in to Trade Secret to just 'see' what polishes they had. Quickest nail polish selecting I've ever done, thank you to the buy 1 get 2 free bins of Essie polish. Yes, get 2 FREE. Even though their selection was pretty minimal {lots of whites and creams, some pinks and reds}, I easily selected 2 new pinks and a solid white. First up, Guilty Pleasures...the best not quite sheer but pink with a hint of coral. LOVE love love. Next, Status Symbol and Below the Belt.

Today my friend since middle school went to the hospital to begin the deliver of her first baby, William.

Katy, I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! I seriously feel like I have Mexican jumping beans in me. I simply cannot wait to meet the little guy. He is such a lucky baby already with two amazing, loving and fun parents. (And not to mention he has a kick-ass baby room.)

I am totally loving the experience of going through the different stages of life with long-term friends. From coordinating outfits and making up names for crushes in middle school, to swimming and saying goodbye in high school, to a reconnected and deepening friendship, I am truly thankful to have such a wonderful friend {and MOMMA BEAR} in my life.

Brewskies

Over the weekend, we went to San Francisco to celebrate the engagement of our friends. I love that they chose to celebrate at Pitxi's, a Chicago style pizza place. YUM. The boys all got these {fancy} beers that came in big bottles with special glasses at the bar we went to after.

Cue instant yummms and me stealing more sips to keep enjoying the new find. Paul thought it tasted a little like raspberry iced tea and after thinking that while tasting, I could definitely see what he meant.

After trying this and becoming a recent fan of Stella, I think it will be a summer of {fancier} beers.

Yummmmmy in my tummy



Get ready for the best summer sandwich combo ever. Thank you Morucci's in Walnut Creek for the inspiration {and watering taste buds with every thought}. My girlfriend and I made these for lunch yesterday, and I tried to only eat half the sandwich as to avoid a food coma/food baby. Needless to say, I only made it the 20 minute drive home and couldn't wait to devour the rest.

What you'll need:

Fancy bread {we used small artisan rolls from Trader Joes} - warmed!

Crunchy lettuce

Pesto

Tomatoes

Fresh mozzarella

Dried basil

Olive oil + vinegar

What you'll do:

Warm the bread in the oven till slightly toasty and warm. Slice the tomatoes and top with a slice of mozzarella. Lightly drizzle with olive oil and vinegar, and dashes of dried basil. Flip the cheese slices over and let sit in the fridge for a while.

Slice the bread and smother each slice {or just one if you're not a huge pesto fan} with pesto. Add tomatoes + mozzarella and add lettuce for a nice crisp crunch.

Finally, stuff your face and don't feel bad about eating the entire thing.

Holy smokes it was hard to wake up this morning. Gloomy weather, cloud-like bed, and exhausted body make for a v e r y   s   l   o   w   monday morning.

It's shoes like these that make me wish I was several inches shorter so I could wear heels like these all the time. They remind me of fuchsia wedge heels I'm hoping to pair with a neutral dress for a wedding this summer...ahhh the dress hunt continues.

I love my dog. Just love him to pieces. He's full of unconditional love, is a pro at being adorable, and can make anyone smile on a cloudy day. He is the best at sleeping in, and the happiest to see you come home.

Last night he was the Sharks lucky token...they won {obviously} because he was wearing his Thornton shirt on.

Today we had quite the adventure...he had his first 30 seconds of fame in a short film {after going through 'fur and makeup', not to mention eating loads of treats}, he played with my cousins' adorable daughter, and upon his arrival home got the ultimate doggie spa day {complete with blow dry}

Ahhhh summer. The season of being tan, living in bikinis and going blonder. Although I have my summer color going, my stick straight hair leads me to fantasize about having super thick, voluminous hair. TG one of my besties is a hair pro, because although I can rock the bed hair {no brushing in the a.m} and the fresh out of the pool nest, anything 'put together' is not something I have mastered. Yet.

Commonly unique

I've been a big fan of over sized watches, especially the gold ones {like one of my favorite bloggers wears } but I have this problem where I wait so long to invest in a style that I end of feeling like too many people do it or have it. That's when I sometimes look for something similar, but a little different.

The first time I saw one of these tortoise shell watches was at Urban Outfitters, but I found mine when I was newly obsessed with Asos. So far I love it on it's own, with a few thin gold bangles, and/or with homemade beaded bracelets.
