{how fun are those straws with the orange sodas in BOTTLES? I mean seriously, orange + blue rock, but sodas in bottles are definitely superior to cans}

As soon as I saw the kit to make Martha Stewart's pom-poms at Michaels, I was obsessed. Instead of spending the $11+ when I knew I could construct them my{crafty}self, I headed to the dollar store and loaded up on white, yellow and orange tissue paper to get crafting for my graduation party {colors: yellow + orange + grey}

Hello easiest, colorful and mystical project. And I'm sure I will be saving my pom-poms for other summer parties. AND will be making them for my sister's adorable baby room {I'm convinced she's having a girl}

Such wonderful news....and such a difficult secret to keep from the world. But at last we can announce the news and smother my sister with loads of love.

Moments of serenity

Despite it being a holiday weekend, I was able to steal away some "me" time on Saturday while I stretched out on my new chaise lounge in the sun with a new book (The Help). While we dream about things to do with the space in the backyard where the trampoline used to be {which includes considering a new trampoline}, I drooled over the new Elle Decor and other spaces that seemed ultra relaxing and serene.

Pretty with pink

my peonies!

Last year I was thrilled when I found peony bulbs at Costco. When some of them started sprouting, I was over the moon. Until, the gardeners mowed over them not once, but twice and I thought they were goners. Hello surprise when 4 started growing this spring! Not only that, one of them must have enjoyed their Miracle Grow treatments so much, they gave me 3 gorgeous flowers. Happyhappyhappy!
