This makes me hungry

There's really no point to this post and it reminds me that I'm a terrible storyteller. However, I just keep laughing in my head about it and hope you get a 'ha ha' out of it too.

Last week I was lucky enough to go on a few walks with my best friend and her 3 month old baby, Brody. Steph lives pretty close so we planned to walk to a meeting place.

"I'll meet you at the cheddar cheese house!"

Funny thing is, there is a house between ours that is literally the orange color of cheese. Not like Wisconsin's finest, but the neon powdery stuff that comes in a packet in the Mac & Cheese box.

Who knows what those people were thinking when they decided neutral just wasn't cutting it anymore. I hope Behr calls it 'Fake Cheddar' or something inspired by cheese.
At least it's a good reference point when giving directions.

I noticed a posting at my gym this week that there would be a yoga class Saturday morning. I'm a big yoga fan and go to classes when I can make it, and needed the time this week to get back to feeling balanced, centered and have a little 'me time.'

When I got there I realized the Victoria's Secret top I was wearing matched my Gaiam yoga mat almost perfectly...to the extent I could lay down and blend in with the mat. Not to mention my water bottle is also a brightly colored green. I'm not sure if others think of lime green as a calming 'yoga color' but for once I didn't care what others thought - it was a true morning for me. Yay!

I love the refreshed feeling yoga brings me when the class is over - my posture feels amazing like I'm walking taller (not like I need to be any taller) and my mind feels clear and open. Such a great start to a cold, cloudy weekend day!

5 things

Image - love it

I love nail polish. Like seriously, LOVE it. I can't help it but change it at least once a week. Lately I've had a thing for OPI's Miami Beet. If it had been up to me, I probably would have named it something more wine related, but that's just me.

I can't get enough of the fresh lemons growing on the tree outside our kitchen window. There was a time in the Fall when the tree seemed to be replenishing our supply and there was no pop of yellow to be found. It makes me super happy that it is now exploding with lemons. I love having a bowl of lemons on the counter, and a bowl full of lemon slices chilling in the fridge ready to flavor a glass of water.

It doesn't hurt that they are the best color of yellow - my favorite!

This guy here is one of the loves of my life. He has a way of making me smile from the deepest place in my soul and it's such an amazing feeling to bury my face in his furry neck. I've been lucky to have low-key mornings this week...yesterday he got to sleep in with me a little bit, and this morning he kept me company over coffee, and watching his dream is often hilarious. Usually something involving squirrels is my guess.

Another thing I love about having late mornings is watching Regis & Kelly. I love how they banter back and forth and just seem to have an overall great time. Kelly has the best style (I also have to mention how ripped she is. whoa) and I love seeing what outfit and accessories she's wearing. Oh, and her hair...p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

I can't tell you how excited I am to see Country Strong this weekend. I was skeptical of Gwyneth Paltrow joining the world of country (though I love her style and hair), but I was more than pleasantly surprised. It seems like Tim McGraw has been on every talk show this week, and how can you not love him?

Cheers to a new face

I am hesitent to get in to things knowing they have the potential of becoming highly involved, time consuming [in a non-productive way], or attention sucking. Youtube, for example, I have no idea where to start. Therefore I only use it when looking for something specific.

I thought I would start this way with reading blogs - there are SO many that I was scared to start somewhere. One day I saw an old high school friend post a blog she was reading, and I couldn't resist looking. I think the name cupcakes and cashmere is enticing in itself, but it's become a complete addiction and the first site I go to in the morning.

From her site, I have found Apartment 34 and from her site even more to look at. I never click directly on another blog's name...I have to open it in a new window because I often love the one I am currently looking at.

The things I love about these blogs is their style, color, ability to grab my attention, personal touches and uplifting themes. I have also taken up with the trend of writing down 5 things that make me smile. I think this is a great pick-me-up when our personal clouds are hanging out above us, or when we need to be reminded how many wonderful things we have in life to smile about.

There are so many things in my life I love, make me smile, I have learned from, and I have done that I want to share the wealth of happiness + love, and remind myself how lucky I am. Hence miscellaneous + love ... there are so so so many things in the world to love, and I am here to share some of the misc things I love.

Wishing a {belated} happy new year to everyone and thank you for coming with me as I take on the new year with a fresh face.
